Threading Stories is a platform that acts as a resource site, an educational space and a shop, presenting artworks that range in scale, shape, material and colour. This space co-hosts a design studio and workshop, dedicated to material exploration, design development and textiles. Through curiosity, research and experimentation, the studio produces selected objects that exhibit a passion for creating and making.

STUDIO

  • A permanent showroom featuring seasonal collections, in-house designs and sourced objects from around the world. Open since 2020 in the walled old city of Nicosia Cyprus, welcoming visitors with an interest in design and craft. The showroom combines artworks with textile designs, photography and jewellery, ceramics and leather accessories. Every piece has been carefully selected to reflect our love for masterful creations.

  • The space co-hosts a design studio, dedicated to textiles and material exploration. The studio produces limited edition objects that exhibit a passion for experimenting, creating and making. It is a transforming work space that welcomes projects, commissions and collaborations.

WORKSHOP

  • A series of interactive experiences for children as well as for adults, in a creative and inspiring environment. The workshops present handmade processes that embrace sustainable design methods and promote a slower pace of life.

  • Our latest workshops are centred around the search for natural local materials and their various applications. Using traditional techniques and processes, the aim is to manipulate the material and transform its form, without altering its primary composition.

STORIES

  • Threading Stories begun as a research project exploring handcrafted processes which transmit information through storytelling, symbolism, structure and colour. The project resulted in an exhibition series presenting and promoting artisans, craftsmanship and cultural heritage of the Andes, Amazon Region, Pacific and Caribbean Coast.

  • A record from different regions documenting stories and recording encounters through photography, video and audio recordings. A selection of original pieces which demonstrate the quality of craftsmanship and encapsulate the identity of each maker. Objects were chosen for their narrative, embedded symbolism, quality and level of creativity. The artefacts present a variety of processes, mixing traditional and modern techniques and materials.
